2010 Quilt Festival

Grab a glass of ice tea or a cup of coffee and check out all the lovely quilts at the 2010 Quilt Festival !

This is my entry for the Spring quilt festival.  I made this for a challenge in 2000.  Each member of our quilt guild was given a fat quarter of blue fabric with 2000 printed on it.  We were to make any kind of quilt out of it that we desired.  Since bright colors are a bit of a challenge for me, I just did not know what to do with it.  It seemed to need stars, so I started with the pieced stars.  Then angels came to mind, and these were appliqued on.  I embroidered the phrase: "For every soul, there is a guardian to watch over it".

It was fun to make, I won the challenge, and it now hangs in my sewing room.  Signature
