Cold Days????

Actually, we are having an unusually warm and dry winter....I think this may be the closest I will come to building snowmen this winter!  These adorable snowmen are from the first issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects magazine.  Lynda Hall and her 7 year old grand-daughter designed this fun pattern.  I am working on a second smaller version of this, it may turn into a pillow, who knows?
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Lottery ticket?

Maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket!  I have actually won two wonderful prizes in blogland in the past few weeks...wow!
Today, I recieved this adorable Halloween Jacks pattern from Melanie Pinney.  She designed this darling candle mat and you can get your own copy from American Pie Patterns. Don't you love the candy corn eyes on the yellow pumpkins?   I cannot wait to get started on this one....need to go shopping for some lime green wool.  Thanks so much Melanie!

And today I learned that I won Lori's fabric giveaway for the Pink Lemonade quilt along.  Some yummy pink and yellow fabrics are coming my way...thanks Lori!  I am sure I will have fun putting these into a new project!

Churn dashes and nine patches...oh my!

All In a Row

Now that I have the floors swept and mopped, I can play in my sewing room!  This is a quilt I started at a quilt retreat last fall, it is from Kim Diehl's book "Simple Comforts".  I believe I am a Jo Morton fabric addict, can't help it!  Love all fabric that is reproduction!  Hopefully, I will get all 25 blocks made, then run to the Quilters Station and find some fabric for the sashing and the border.

Last year, I started keeping a "journal of encouragement"...for myself.  Some days are just harder than others...can't figure it out.  Must be the darn hormones!!!  So I will leave you with this...just in case there is a day that just doesn't feel "right" for no good reason at all.

Wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving.

Pink Lemonade...ready to quilt!

Woo Hoo!  My Pink Lemonade quilt is sewn together
and ready to quilt!!!
Shall I machine quilt it or hand quilt it....the jury is out on that one.

I found this on Pintrest today...I struggle with the "blues",
thought it might help some of you that do as well.

Any time spent quilting can usually lift my "blue" moments...
what about you?

Baskets and Petals

This weekend, I finished this shop model for The Rabbits Lair. Cheri Payne designed this quilt, Baskets and Petals. The little baskets are pieced with applique flowers added.  It is the quilt featured on the cover of the spring issue of  Primitive Quilts and Projects magazine.  This will be offered in kits through The Rabbits Lair, and the magazine should be out any day.  I love this magazine, don't you?  Just wish I had the time to make more of the projects!
